MESSAGE Greetings to all, GZS Campus College of Engineering & Technology proudly completed 36 glorious years in 2025 since its inception. The mission of the college is to develop efficient and competent professionals dedicated to serving society, the state, the nation, and humanity at large. The institution was established in 1989 by the Government of Punjab as a Government Engineering College to impart undergraduate education in core engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, along with Architecture. To promote faster and holistic development, the college was granted autonomous status in 1992 and rechristened as the College of Engineering & Technology. In 1995, it was renamed Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering & Technology in honour of the former President of India. Since its inception, the college has consistently strived to keep pace with technological advancements in engineering and technology. In 1995, an undergraduate program in Textile Engineering was introduced to meet the growing demand for technical manpower in the cotton belt of Punjab. Recognizing rapid developments in computing, the college launched an undergraduate program in Computer Science & Engineering in 1997. In 1999, the Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering program was restructured as Electronics & Communication Engineering to better align with industry needs. With the advent of the new millennium, the institution expanded vertically by gradually introducing postgraduate programs across various disciplines. In 2012, the college became a campus college of IKG Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. In 2013, the college was awarded the Best Punjab Govt. Technical Institute in the ‘CMAI National Punjab Education Awards 2013’ Ceremony by the CMAI association of India, and it received a TEQIP-II grant of ₹10 crores, which was effectively utilized to upgrade laboratory infrastructure and enhance the academic, technological, and administrative capabilities of faculty and staff.
